Is there any information on how to connect and retrieve the logs on the N-Series or in specific the N3 with software? Any examples or code available that would show this functionality?

Any hints, links and documentation more than welcome!

Best, Mirko

The best solution to reading logs from a Neptune is already built and available from http://paralog.net/

You certainly have a point. But there are still reasons why you would like to do that.

So any input?

Sorry, the answer is no. The post link above explains the situation.

All due respect to paralog but I would expect from such a device that it comes with appropriate software that allows me to at least get my data from it. This would be analog to apple selling an iPod where you would have to buy iTunes as an additional software to be able to synchronize music.

I don't see the proprietary protocol as an issue as long as you provide an sdk, library or program that lets you read the log files. You don't have to open the whole protocol and I agree with you that writing to the configuration is certainly a no no.

Hi Mirko

We made our business agreement with Klaus over 5 years ago, the circumstances, and available resources, at that time were very different than they are today.

I agree in principle with all the points you make, but the fact is that we entered into a business agreement and we will, of course, abide by it.

We are constantly developing new products and the next generation of products will give us an opportunity to make everyone happy, I hope.

Take care

Roger
