I purchased a new Galaxy, when I received it I put it in a plastic bag and gave somje pressure to it. The dial reads backwards. This does not seem right. The first Galaxy I received was DOA, now this one reads backwards. ????? Bought from Bad Dog skydive gear..........

Hi Robert
If you put an altimeter in a plastic bag and press on it you will increase the pressure in the bag.
Higher pressure = Lower altitude
Therefore the dial will move counter clockwise (backwards).
From your description your Galaxy seems to be working exactly as designed, but if you in any doubt at all, please send it to us and we will check in in the chanber.

Thank you. I was thinking about it backwards. The store I bought it from seemed not happy about returning my first Galaxy, which was DOA. I am new to skydiving (only 13 jumps). I appreciate your help.

Robert,
I was a little surprised to see that you thought we were unhappy about you returning your Galaxy. It is true that we were not happy that you got a defective one, but I'm sure you were not happy about that either. You may recall that we did suggest that you return your Galaxy directly to Alti-2 for warranty service rather than sending it back to us first in order to save time. As I explained to you, the unit you got was our last Denim Galaxy, so a repair was your only option if you wanted to keep the Denim. When you told us it was going to take six weeks to get yours repaired, we exchanged your Denim for another Galaxy of your choice and took back the defective one (which has since been repaired by Alti-2). BTW, you apparently got some bad information regarding the repair time. Per Alti-2, the six weeks applies to overseas orders (1-2 weeks for the unit to reach them; 1-2 weeks for them to fix the unit; and 1-2 weeks for the unit to go back overseas). In the case where a new Galaxy is faulty, a replacement unit is typically sent out within 2 business days. I hope that clears up some confusion.
