I purchased the N3a thinking it had a built in speaker...

What kind of headphones/headset should I use with the N3a? Which fit into the lining of a helmet well and don't constrain motion? I am somewhat new to this so I have no idea. Specific suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

Hello! The headphones or headset used with the N3Audio can be whatever you personally prefer. We sell "Shure" brand headphones, but again, whatever you prefer will work with the N3Audio. Whether or not the headphones will fit into the lining of your helmet will depend on the brand of headphones and the type of helmet that you wear. Enjoy!

I use iPlugz from E.A.R. Inc. which are custom fit ear plugs with high-quality headphones built in. They're super comfortable because they're fitted to your ears (you need to go to an audiologist to get ear impressions made) and they're noise isolating, so you can use a lower volume, and therefore protect your hearing. If you have a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for medical care, you can get your doctor to give you a prescription for custom ear plugs to protect your ears from cold and wind, and then the trip to the audiologist as well as the iPlugz themselves can be paid for using your pre-tax dollars. That can cut the over-all cost by 25-30% compared to post-tax costs.
