I'm in process of building custom helmet and I'm looking for small speakers (headphone drivers) which I could install in the helmet and then connect to N3A via audio jack.

I was going to cannibalize old pair of headphones but then thought that there must be a store selling headphone drivers cheap (like all electronic components). What I don't know (yet) is the characteristics of speakers. What should the impedance be? Is there any limit to their seize (both ways, that is too big or too small) regarding power supply from N3A? Anything else I should look out for so I don't release magical blue smoke from N3A or headphones?

Or should I just take old headphones apart and pray those speakers don't die too soon?

We have done some research in this area. It is rather involved so I will send you a PM.
As far as the N3Audio, it is only a pass through for the audio signal from the MP3 player and does not amplify.
