Hi all,
Can anyone recommend an IRDA adapter to allow me to connect my Neptune to my Apple (G5 Powermac or G4 powerbook).
The only IRDA adapter I found so far is the Sitecom, but I can't see if this is will work on a Mac.
Thanks in advance,
IRExpress USB IrDA Controller by KC Technology, Inc. received good feedback, but any adapter with OSX drivers should work.
HTH,
Klaus

Sorry to trouble you again, but I was just wondering if you could point me at any IrDA adapter currently available, and with drivers for OS X 10.4.
I gave up looking on my own the other day and made an appointment at the local genius bar, but they couldn't advise me of anything that would work.
I'm afraid not, I'm not a Mac user myself.
Maybe any other Mac users out there can chime in?
Or maybe one of the Google hits (http://www.google.com/search?q=ir+adapter+mac+osx) works?

I'd look at MacMall (http://www.macmall.com) - they generally do their homework on what works and what doesn't work with a Mac. (& it looks like they actually have a couple of options, too...)
Good luck!

Recently we got a couple of IR4010U samples in from Actisys - http://actisys.com/
The IR4010U supports Vista and the Mac. I have one here on my desk that I am using with XP. Here is the link for this on the Actisys site:
http://actisys.com/IrDAProd.html#IR4010U
The IR4020 supports faster transmission speeds and costs a little more, but you don't need to pay the premium: Neptune does not use the VFIR spec.
This is the only adaptor I have found so far where the manufacturer claims support for Vista and Mac and provides support.
I recommend calling them at 1-510-490-8024 They are in California. Ask them about your particular Mac configuration before you buy.

Has anyone found a usb irda that has worked yet, other than the $50 one Tim said works?
